About the Olympiad

The International Junior Science Olympiad (IJSO) is a science competition for students aged 15 or younger by December 31, 2025. Designed to inspire a passion for science, the IJSO challenges participants with both theoretical questions and hands-on experiments, testing their grasp of scientific concepts and their ability to apply knowledge to real-world problems. Over the years IJSO aims to positively impact science and mathematics education in schools.

Beyond academics, the Olympiad fosters cultural exchange and international friendship, bringing together young minds from around the world to collaborate and learn.

To participate, students must adhere to the official IJSO rules, ensuring a fair and enriching experience for all.

Encompass familiarity with scientific methods, scientific terminology, hypothesis formulation, experimental design and description, assessment of information validity, data representation in tables, diagrams, and graphs, and data interpretation.
General Science Skills

Content Knowledge in Natural Sciences and Mathematics
Covers fundamental concepts in articles, waves and matter, energy, interactions, structure, properties and functions, systems, development and evolution, as well as relevant mathematical skills.

Laboratory Skills
Include the ability to follow safety regulations in a laboratory setting and to apply scientific knowledge and general skills to solve experimental problems.

About the Sirius Federal Territory

The Sirius ecosystem combines the best of government structures and corporate practices. Thanks to the territory is located in the Imereti Lowlands in an interfluve of Mzymta and Psou. It is surrounded by the Caucasus Mountains and a unique natural reserve. The Winter Olympics took place here in 2014. Sirius Educational Center for talented children from all over the country was founded at the initiative of the President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin on the basis of the Olympic heritage sites.
Sirius also accommodates and develops the University of Science and Technology, the Presidential Lyceum, modern laboratories, as well as cultural and sports infrastructure. Not only children study here, but also their teachers and mentors. Scientists create innovative developments using the extensive capabilities of the Innovative Scientific and Technological Center. Engineers are working on their application in urban spaces. National standards are being developed in educational, scientific, cultural, sports and other spheres, which are scaled to the whole country. The Sirius open-source federal project serves to identify talents of people of all ages in the interests of Russia. Experimental legal regime, breakthrough projects are created here to solve the most important problems facing Russia, which would be impossible to implement in other regions of the country.
